Is Central Coast Mariners’ Away Kit Enough to Keep You Interested?
Earlier in the week we spoke about the Central Coast Mariners. This author had barely heard of them. It turns out that they’re a club from Australia who signed notoriously fast-but-apparently-unfit Usain Bolt and are hoping to finish higher than their 10th place finish of last season. The reason we were writing about them was their latest home kit. We were on the fence about it. “Why?” We hear you cry. Well, because the vertical stripes that appeared on the front weren’t symmetrical. That isn’t a huge deal, it just bugged us a little bit.
Now we want to show you their away kit. It doesn’t particularly do anything for us but you might love it.
The kit is a metallic blue with the club’s crest, their sponsor, and Umbro’s iconic logo all sitting ontop. Furthermore, apparently by popular demand, the jersey also features a grey sash running diagonally across the front. The bright grey contrasts nicely with the metallic blue and ensures this kit is kept simple.
As well as the considerate design, the kit also features Umbro’s breathable technology. This allows players to feel at their coolest, even under the most intense pressure.
While most of Umbro’s UK kit designs are finished with trademark sleeve tapering, this kit has none. The neckline is simple with two buttons at the front to fasten. This blue and grey jersey is finished with blue shorts and socks.
We at UK Soccer Shop think it’s a fine kit. There’s nothing we don’t like about it. Perhaps it’s just this author’s preference or maybe it just doesn’t quite catch our eye enough. Eitherway, once the new A-League season gets underway, we can’t wait to see how Central Coast Mariners’ away kit performs. Furthermore, how Usain Bolt performs too.
