Arsenal stronger despite Henry’s departure
Thanks to the ‘Big Four’, most people in the world are addicted to the English Premier League. Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Chelsea are so popular these days. Thanks to these four clubs, the Premier League became more popular than La Liga and Serie A. Recently, Chelsea and Manchester United are considered as the two most powerful forces in the title race. But since Jose ‘the Special One’ Mourinho’s departure, most media in England now believe Arsenal and Liverpool are the main threats for defending champion Manchester United.
This season, Arsenal have completely changed from their uninspiring performances last season. From their six appearances in Premier League, they scored 15 oals. Compare it to Manchester United, who only scored six goals from seven appearances. Beside in Premiership, Arsenal have also started fantastically in Champions League. Last Tuesday, they beat Sevilla 3-0. They have broken all sceptic people’s opinions who said “Arsenal can’t do anything without Henry.”
After beating Derby 5-0, Arsenal’s midfielder Cesc Fabregas said he enjoyed to play alongside his teammates. Fabregas even stated he might stay in Arsenal until the next 10 years. The young Spanish star also revealed why Arsenal can maintain their outstanding form this season. He said Thierry Henry, former King in Arsenal, has intimated all of Arsenal players. He claimed last season, Arsenal’s young players were too “afraid” to show their creativity. But since Henry left the club, Fabregas and the other players are much more motivated to show their true skills.
Maybe he was right. In the last two seasons, Arsenal looked like a “team for Henry”. All players tried to pass the ball to Henry in every chance, except when Henry was injured. This season, we have seen how good the new Arsenal is. Fabregas, for example, often launched his excellent long shots. Adebayor and Van Persie are also playing more important roles than last season. Arsenal have earned positive result without Henry but can they maintain the positive atmosphere until the end of this season? Well, that will be anotherstory.
