08-09 Germany home football shirt
Germany have released their new home shirt that they will be wearing for the Euros next year.
The shirt is in the traditional German colours of white with black Adidas stripes on the sleeve and black Adidas badge in the centre of the chest. The shirt also has 3 gold stars above the German team badge to represent the 3 victories that Germany has in the tournament, the last of which was in England in 1996.
Germany have had an impressive qualification campaign having lost only once so far and currently sitting top of Group D with only 1 game remaining. They also defeated San Marino 13-0 the biggest defeat they have ever suffered and the biggest away victory for Germany ever!
The last 2 Euros tournaments have not been very successful for the Germans with them getting knocked out in the first round on both occasions but they will be hoping the mixture of youth and experience they have in their team will allow them to do better this time.
Young starts such as Schweinsteiger and Podolski really shot to prominence in the World cup in 2006 and with the experience and quality of the likes of Klose and Ballack (who will hopefully be fit by then ) the Germans can not be taken lightly.
The official shirt can be purchased at http://www.uksoccershop.com/products/8252.html where you can add any name and number you wish.
