Galatasaray 2016-17 Kits Revealed
Turkish giants Galatasaray, unveiled their home kit ahead their friendly against Manchester United last weekend. Things didn’t quite go to plan as United ran out 5 – 2 winners.
After winning the treble of Süper Lig, Türkiye Kupası and Süper Kupa in 2014/15, last season was a let-down. Sixth in the Süper Lig, retaining the Türkiye Kupası meant qualifying for the group stage of the Europa League. The prospect of failing to qualify for European football doesn’t bear thinking about for a club with this rich a history.
Galatasaray 2016/17 Home Kit
This is the Galatasaray home kit for 2016/17:
The yellow and red halves are supplemented by horizontal red pinstripes. It gives a ribbed effect on the pattern. The sleeves are red and yellow, contrasting to the half of the shirt body where they are positioned. The yellow sleeve is next to the red half and vice versa.
The kit is completed with two shorts and sock pairings. Ordinarily, the shorts will be red and socks, yellow but for some fixtures, white shorts and red socks will be worn.
Galatasaray 2016/17 Away Kit
This is the away kit Galatasaray will wear next season:
The all-white kit is in keeping with Nike’s template this summer. The shirt features minimal trim, limited to a thick red and thin yellow band around the back of the collar. Down the side of the body is a pair of red and yellow stripes, meeting a similar design on the shorts.
The socks are red.
Nike has returned to the club’s roots with the home kit and this will be welcomed by supporters. Added to a stylish away kit, and Galatasaray will be finely attired in 2016/17.
