Derby County 2016/17 Home Kit Unveiled!

Championship side, Derby County, have launched their home kit for the 2016/17 season. Appointed a fortnight ago, new manager, Nigel Pearson, hopes to inspire the club to automatic promotion and avoid repeating the heartbreak of losing in the play-offs.

Manufacturer, Umbro, has come up with a twist on the club’s traditional colours of white shirts and black shorts. Whilst the shirt remains faithful to that ideal, black trim has been added. Down either side of the body of the shirt runs a black stripe.

Whilst the small winged collar is white with a three-button neckline, Umbro has incorporated black shoulder panels which run from the neck to the top of each sleeve. Black trim then follows the seam where the body meets the sleeves in a pattern which gives the impression that the wearer is carrying a rucksack on their back.

Based out of Manchester, Umbro has their iconic double diamond logo on the right breast whilst the Derby County club badge, the Ram, stands proudly opposite on the left. Shirt sponsor, Just Eat, has their red and white logo in the midriff of the shirt.

The shorts are black with white trim down either side of the leg. The Ram club badge is on the right leg with Umbro’s logo on the left. Socks, in keeping with the traditional white Derby fans expect, have a black band across the shin.

All orange, the shirt has panelled sides and sleeves in a contrasting darker orange than the body. The elliptical lighter shade of body houses the logos of the shirt sponsor and kit manufacturer, as well as the club badge.

The sleeve cuffs are black and on the inside of each arm is a black panel leading to the underarm.

Shorts and socks are both the darker orange shade.
