Hungary Unveil Euro2016 Kits
Mention Hungary in football circles and grainy images of Puskas, Hidgekuti and Koscis come to mind. For the first time since 1972, they have qualified for the finals of the European Championships and have just released their Euro2016 kits.
Hungary Euro2016 Home Kit
Made by Adidas, it’s very much keeping with the traditional colours. The red shirt is from Adidas’ stock template. Clean with little adornment, if features a red and white thin-striped v-shaped collar. The white bottom stripe leads on to the Adidas trademark three stripes across the shoulder.
They run to the mid-point of each sleeve where they are met with a green bar which leaves the remainder of the sleeve red until it meets with the red cuff.
The body of the shirt contains the Adidas logo on the right breast opposite the crest of Magyar Labdarúgó Szövetség – the Hungarian Football Federation – on the left. The shirt is completed by a green waistband.
The kit is completed with white shorts and green socks.
Hungary Euro2016 Away Kit
The Euro2016 away kit is all-white. Using the same core design as the home strip, the white top has a red and white collar with the red leading onto Adidas’ three stripes, this time in red, across the shoulder. The green bar of the home strip appears on the sleeves once more, as does the green waistband.
The away strip is completed by white shorts and socks.
Hungary qualified for the Euro2016 finals via the play-offs having finished behind Northern Ireland and Romania in the group stage. Facing Norway, they triumphed 1 – 0 in Oslo before winning 2 – 1 at the Groupama Arena, home of Ferencvaros.
