New! Corinthians 2016/17 Home Kit Launched!
Brasilian club SC Corinthians 2016/17 home kit made it’s debut last night in the goalless draw against Gremio at the Arena Corinthians. Nike has drawn heavily on the club’s past for the Timão, with the off-white colour of the shirt body drawing heavily on the first shirts worn when the club was founded in 1910.
The new shirts are made with the latest Nike innovations in fabrics and environmental sustainability. It’s a simple, unfussy jersey with the white v-neck giving way to a black collar. The only other trim is a thick black stripe from the armpit to waist.
It’s the first shirt in a number of years where black isn’t the dominant colour. Gone are the panelled black sleeves of last season and the stripes before that. Even so, not all traditions have been dispensed with.
On the back of the collar, Timão sits proudly in the middle of neck, as well as being printed on the inside, imbuing the history of the club into the players.
The kit is completed with black shorts which bear the club crest on the right thigh and Nike’s Swoosh on the left, finishing off with white socks.
