Newcastle United Reveal Away & Third Kits

Coming to terms with life in the Championship, Newcastle United have issued their away and third kits for 2016/17. The Magpies slipped into the second division of the English professional game with bitter rivals Sunderland relegating them in the final week of the season.

Supporters will hope that their last two seasons in the Championship are repeated with Newcastle United promoted as champions in 1993 and 2010. The former was secured with a 7 – 1 win over reigning Premier League champions, Leicester City!

When there is a colour clash with the famous black and white striped home kit, Newcastle have opted for a navy blue and gold away kit.

The shirt body is navy blue. Across the front is a thick gold stripe housing the logo of controversial shirt sponsor, Wonga. Across the shoulder and arms is a gold band, leading from the polo-style collar to the sleeve hem.

Puma’s logos on the chest and shoulder are in white. The club crest, on the left breast, is placed on a white background.

The shorts are blue with a gold stripe down each leg, whilst the socks are blue with gold hoops, before giving way to a solid gold lower leg and foot.

With two distinctive and classic football designs for their home and away kit, Puma was left with a dilemma for the third kit: go with fashion or continue the theme?

They decided fashion wasn’t that important; a classy look mattered throughout the kit range.

The shirt is a clean white design, again with a polo-style collar. The alternate colour is blue, forming the collar and neckline with stripes from there to the sleeve cuffs. Puma’s logo is in white on the shoulder and blue on the chest.

On the reverse of the back, as with the away kit, the letters “NUFC” are printed, this time in blue.

Puma has created a stylish set of alternative kits for Newcastle United next season. Now it’s down to the players to restore some pride on the pitch.
