The first kit of the new deal with Macron, sees Stoke City doffing their caps to the past for the 2016/17 home and away kits launched on 6th May. With two games remaining, The Potters are hoping to match the consecutive ninth places of the last two seasons, the best-ever finishes in the Premier League.

Home Kit

The white winged collar is reminiscent of the 1970s kits worn by the likes of Conroy, Greenhof and Ritchie. If the players want to release their inner Cantona, when the lapels are upturned, they reveal thin red and white stripes around the full length of the collar.

The thick red and white stripes, set out in a 4-3 formation on front and back are complimented by the subtle cuffs at the bottom of the sleeves. “The Potters” underneath the collar breaks the white number panel on the back.

Completed with white shorts and socks, Stoke have a firm grip on their traditions with this modern twist.

Away Kit

The 1980s is the inspiration for the alternate kit.

The sky blue shirt is complimented by shorts and socks of the same colour.

It’s a simple design, with the white ‘granddad’ collar containing three buttons when undone matched by white cuffs. The logo of sponsors, Bet365, provides a crisp white contrast in the centre of the shirt.

For Stoke fans, both the home and away kits represent a solid start to the club’s four-year deal with manufacturers, Macron.
