New Football Kits

Sporting Lisbon Release Their 2018/19 Home and Away Kits

Sporting Lisbon. Their team name sounds like a compliment of sportsmanship. Or maybe it doesn’t. To be fair, this author is a little too excited for tonight’s football. England V Colombia. It’s likely that nobody else in the world is hyped for this fixture but we are. This world Cup has been so filled with drama that anything short of an upset becomes boring.

We mention upsets at the World Cup and Sporting Lisbon in the same paragraph because sadly Portugal have left the competition. In one of the greatest upsets so far, aside from Germany’s early exit, Uruguay beat Portugal 2-1. This means that both Messi and Ronaldo, two players who are hailed as the best in the world are already back home. The competition is wide open but it allows Sporting Lisbon fans to focus on their club news.

Sporting Lisbon finished their 2017/18 campaign in third place of the Primeira Liga. A seriously respectable place, just behind Benfica and Porto. Two sides that really know how to compete.

To pick Portuguese fans off the floor and get them excited for next season, Sporting Lisbon have released their 2018/19 home and away kits. They’re both different from each other, one being very simple and the other reflecting the club’s past.

The home kit is green and white. There is a white space on the chest for the sponsor to be clearly shown and the sleeves feature a small amount of black tapering.

The neckline features a classic collar with a stitched front and across the back are the words: Super Bock.

The away kit is a two-tone grey kit. It utilises a checker board pattern on the front and luminous green highlights to create a really effective kit.

The neckline on the away kit is simple and modern. No collar here.

With these two kits, Sporting Lisbon will certainly stand out both at the hallowed turf of Estádio José Alvalade and on their travels.
