Newcastle United Reveal Their 2018/19 Home Kit by Puma

They were founded in 1892. They’ve had big names associated with them, such as Alan Shearer, Sir Bobby Robson, and Ant & Dec. Newcastle United have been a top tier team since the early 90s, and despite a brief dip into the Championship in 2016, the club is about to enjoy another Premier League season. After finishing in 10th place in their last campaign, the Magpies will be hoping to compete with the top six. Rafael Benitez’ side will hope to not only survive, but to compete. On July 10, with England’s World Cup dreams still alive and Trump not having met the Queen, we at UK Soccer Shop showed you Newcastle’s 2018/19 away kit.

Now, let us explore their home one.

The kit’s design is made up of black and white, vertical stripes. Anyone could have guessed that. These stripes cover the front and back, drifting across the sleeves and up the shoulders to meet the neckline.

The sleeves are tapered with white, so the stripes just stop a couple of centimetres before the bottom of the sleeves. The neckline is simple and modern. While we have seen many classic collars this season, Puma have opted for a pointed neckline, tapered with white.

The kit itself utilises Dry Cell technology. This ensures that the players are kept cool and dry, no matter the situation. Whether battling for promotion or desperately fighting off relegation, Puma will ensure comfort in even the most high-pressure situation.

Puma’s logo, synonymous with quality and positive design, is seen both on the chest and on each of the sleeves, at the top. Across the front, in the centre of the chest is the club’s main sponsor: Fun88. The only criticism that the kit seems to have received is that the logo is too dominant for the kit.

We at UK Soccer Shop love it. But what do you think?
