Lincoln City Release Their 2018/19 Away Kit by Errea

After seven long years they’re back. Relegated from League 2 in 2011, 2018 is the year that we see Lincoln City play in the fourth tier of English football once again. This author, as you’re sure to know by now, is an Ipswich Town fan. January 2017, the Tractor Boys were playing the Imps in the FA cup on television. The first leg came out in a 2-2 draw but the second leg would surely end in a win for Ipswich. Right? This author gathered his flatmates in his room to watch the excitement. Fast forward to the 91st minute and his flatmates watched Lincoln’s Nathan Arnold put one past Dean Gerken.

From then on, this author has silently become a secondary supporter of Lincoln City’s promotion campaign. Now in League Two, surely anything is possible.

An “anything is possible” attitude is what makes Lincoln City great. They’ve been the underdogs countless times but now they’re getting the recognition they deserve. Alongside this recognition, you’d think that the club would craft an away kit that shouted their arrival. Instead, Lincoln City have teamed up with Errea to design a jersey that is fine. It’s just okay. Granted, it’s very simple. We love that here. But it isn’t eye-catching, nor particularly bold.

We still think you should see it

The colouring (if you can call it that) is grey. The body is grey and the sleeves are black. Granted, it isn’t the worst combination of colours in the world. Furthermore, the bottom of each sleeve is tapered with grey, allowing for a complete-appearance. If a little dull.

The neckline is simple, featuring black on either side of a grey ‘V’ frontage.

It’s a fine kit. It doesn’t push any boundaries but it does appear complete. The overall feel of the fans is a 5/10. A nothing ventured, nothing gained kind of vibe.

What do you think? Please don’t tell us it’s your favourite kit ever.
