Brighton & Hove Albion Reveal Their 2018/19 Away Kit by Nike
Sometimes there’ll be a weekend of football unlike any other. There’ll be a seemingly unending amount of goals and score lines that were unpredictable before the weekend started. We’ve just left one such weekend behind. Highlights of the topsy turvy weekend include West Brom’s 7-1 win over The Wally with the Brolly’s QPR and Manchester City’s slightly more predictable 6-1 triumph over Huddersfield. Another score line made the news this weekend. That game was Manchester United verses Brighton & Hove Albion. It might not have been goal-filled, but it was exciting and gave us a scoreline that nobody would have guessed. 3-2 to Brighton. That’s right. The team that were saved from relegation in 2014 and finished in 15th place last season beat Mourinho’s Red Devils.
To commemorate this scoreline and allow ourselves to take a much-needed break, we wanted to bring you Brighton & Hove Albion’s away kit. We showed you the team’s home jersey. It was full of Nike’s expected design flourish and brought with it features that fans loved.
The away jersey is just as nicely executed and is green. We feel like that’s the main point about the away kit. Green.
The kit features a subtle pattern, made up of several indistinguishable shapes. This design gives the kit necessary character whilst also acting as the perfect blank canvas for the club’s crest, Nike’s iconic logo and Brighton’s main sponsor.
Brighton & Hove Albion’s neckline is where most of the kit’s flourish comes into play. It’s a simple neckline with an opening at the front and two white lines running down either side. This design gives the effect of a more classic collar, without it being any more cumbersome than a natural neckline.
The kit has largely been positively received by fans. Furthermore, if their result against Manchester United is anything to go by, Brighton & Hove Albion’s season is going to be an exciting one.
