The Republic of Ireland Gain a Positive New Kit
The end of August has come and gone. Green Day will want waking up in a few weeks and schools across the country have restarted. Much to the parents’ delight. Summer is over and now begins the steady build up towards Christmas. Too early? You’re probably right. Last week, just as the last of the summer sun was shining down, we brought you the Republic of Ireland’s away kit. It was white with green and orange features and we loved it. The men’s’ football team is ranked 29th in the world. That’s an excellent position to be in.
Now it’s time for the home kit. The kit brings the same design excellence that New Balance originally employed and, furthermore, features a subtle pattern that fans have responded positively to.
When asked what colour the kit is, you might guess green. You would be right. That’s no surprise to any fans or any of us here at UK Soccer Shop. Green features inside the country’s crest after the shamrock that grows across Ireland. Furthermore, across the front of the jersey is a pattern made up of dark triangles. This pattern fades in from the sides and gives depth to the Republic of Ireland’s away kit. On top of the pattern sits the country’s badge, their main sponsor: 3, and New Balance’s logo.
The neckline is simple. It is tapered with white and has two orange lines forming around the top. Finally, on the nape of this elegant kit sits the word “Eire,” which means “Ireland,” in Irish.
As mentioned, this away kit has so far been positively received by fans. Perhaps it’s the simplicity or the subtle pattern. Who knows? This kit will be seen during the upcoming international break. The Republic of Ireland will be tested by Ryan Giggs’ Wales.
