Melbourne City Reveal Their 2018/19 Third Kit by Nike
Melbourne City’s Latest Third Kit is Simple, Bold and Popular.
Here at UK Soccer Shop, you know that we love looking at kits from around the world. We’ve pointed that out in previous articles. Whether it’s League Two football or international, India or Southern France, we always enjoy finding quality kits. When Melbourne City’s third kit was pushed across our desk, we knew instantly that it was an excellent kit. Previously, we’ve shown you the club’s home kit which was a bright, sky-blue design that highlighted each design element perfectly.
At the time of writing the article, this author also found out some pretty neat facts about our friends on the other side of the world. These were:
- There are three times as many sheep as there are people living in Australia.
- 17 of the world’s most poisonous snakes are to be found in the country.
- A ban on saying the word ‘mate’ in parliament was introduced in 2004. It was overturned after 24 hours.
While not entirely relevant, we enjoyed discovering them. So let’s take a look at the club’s third kit.
The jersey itself is charcoal in colouring. Running from the edges to the centre are a number of darker lines. These lines meet just underneath the club’s main sponsor and highlight each design element, such as the club’s crest and Nike’s iconic Swoosh nicely. Each element is light blue, adding a positive contrast to the kit’s overall dark colouring.
This dark third kit also utilises Nike’s cutting-edge breathable technology. This allows players to feel at their calmest, even when faced with the most intense pressure. The league is yet to get under way but Melbourne City will need this breathable technology if they’re to rise up the table and compete positively.
