Leyton Orient’s 2018/19 Fourth Kit Commemorates The Great War

Let’s Take a Look at Leyton Orient’s 2018/19 Fourth Kit.

Here at UK Soccer Shop, we like bringing you kits from around the world. Furthermore, we don’t mind whether that’s international football, the Premier League or even the National League. So far this 2018/19 season we’ve seen plenty of home kits, away ones and experimental third designs. However, apart from Manchester City’s Champions kit, we’ve seen very few fourth kits. Today, Leyton Orient’s fourth kit was pushed across our digital desk. At first, we thought it a strange mistake, but the design is excellent and commemorates the club’s role during the Great War.

Before we take a look, let’s find out how they’re doing this season. Leyton Orient are currently sat in third place of the National League. They’re one point away from first place, however the top team Salford City and seventh place Gateshead are only separated by five points. Justin Edinburgh will hope that his team can keep momentum high throughout the season. Furthermore, he’ll hope that Leyton Orient can gain promotion into League Two.

The fourth kit commemorates the club’s role during the First World War. Leyton Orient was the first English club to enlist “en mass.” 41 players and staff members joined the ranks of the British military. Furthermore, three players were killed in action. The commemorative kit will be worn in their games surrounding Remembrance Sunday, accompanied by two minutes of silence.

Leyton Orient’s fourth kit is white. From each shoulder down onto the chest of the jersey is a large red chevron. Furthermore, the bottom of each sleeve is bordered with a thick red material. The jersey takes direct influence from the kit worn by the club between 1910 and 1931. As you may imagine, the commemorative kit has been almost entirely positively received by Leyton Orient fans and the general football community.
