New Football Kits

Luton Town FC has Released Their 2018/19 Home Kit by Puma

A Day Dedicated to One Team. Let’s Start with Luton Town’s Home Kit.

Yes, you read that right. We’re dedicating our grey, damp and dreary Tuesday morning to Luton Town FC. These past few days have been full of concept kits. We’ve seen Plymouth Argyle’s predicted three kits, a tenuous design for PSV Eindhoven and a home kit created for Sevilla FC. Furthermore, we’ve seen plenty of football boot releases. There was Umbro’s laceless boots, the latest Nike Mercurials and some stylish Puma One Stun Packs. We did however see an excellent commemorative kit from Leyton Orient. The design reflects the club’s role during the Great War. From concept kits, to football boots and commemorative kits, they’re all great pieces to write. Today we think it perhaps best to recap on some of the kits that we’ve missed. Starting with Luton Town FC.

According to the club’s Wikipedia page, ‘Luton Town Football Club is a professional association football club based in the town of Luton, Bedfordshire, England, that competes in League One, the third tier of the English football league system.’ Luton FC was founded in 1885 and their nickname, ‘The Hatters’, comes from the town’s historical connection to the hat manufacturing trade. Currently sat in seventh place, Nathan Jones, together with the fans, will want to see Luton FC rise up the table. Their next match is tonight, against 4th place Stanley.

The home jersey is orange. This author will never not be a fan of orange kits. They’re eye-catching and Luton Town FC’s has certainly been excellently designed by Puma. Running up the front of the home kit are a series of thick, faded stripes. They run up halfway, and then invert. To contrast the bright orange, black runs across the shoulders, around the neckline and borders each sleeve.
