Here at UK Soccer Shop, we love football kits that push the envelope. Those that are eye-catching, and furthermore, dare to do something different. Recently, most notably was Zamora CF’s 2018/19 third kit. The jersey’s design consisted of an anatomic central nervous system, complete with a heart. It certainly caught our attention and tied in nicely to Halloween. If they meant for that to happen. Which we don’t believe they did. Today’s envelope-pushing kit belongs to Bohemian FC. the Irish Premier Division club is currently fifth, out of ten teams. Furthermore, Bohemian FC represents Dalymore, a town famous for its music and cultural scene.
Among names such as the Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Thin Lizzy, Bob Marley also appeared on the music scene. To commemorate the Rastafarian reggae superstar, Bohemian FC’s 2018/19 kit features a large picture of his face.
The jersey is white. On this blank canvas sits the club’s crest, Oneil’s kit design logo and Bohemian FC’s main sponsor. Running underneath their crest are three stripes, a green one, a yellow one and an orange one. This colouring can also be seen on the bottom of each sleeve and around the back of the neckline.
As mentioned, rising up from the bottom of the jersey is Bob Marley’s face. Furthermore, being grey, the musician’s appearance doesn’t detract from the kit’s overall design. Finally, running across the back of Bohemian FC’s kit are the words ‘Dublin’s Originals.’
Keith Long will hope that this kit can steadily push his team up the table. It’s an excellent away kit, one that is bright, eye-catching and dares to do something different.
