AEK Athens 2016/17 Kits Unveiled
Greek giants AEK Athens may have fallen on hard times recently but their cup win last season brought some cheer to the capital city.
The turmoil of this decade has seen them plummet to unheard of depths and rebuilt, rising back to the Super League like a phoenix from the ashes.
The cup final victory was made all the sweeter by beating fierce rivals Olympiakos 2 – 1.
AEK Athens 2016/17 Home Kit
This is the home kit AEK Athens will wear this season:
The club’s traditional colours of yellow and black feature but are tweaked. The base colour is black with gold pinstripes on the front and sleeves.
A plain black player identification houses a unique gold patterned number design.
The shorts are plain black as are the shorts.
AEK Athens 2016/17 Away & Third Kit
These are the AEK Athens away and third kits:
The primary away kit is a bright pink shirt. The clean design comes with a crew neck collar and black trim, including the Nike Swoosh.
The shorts and socks are both a clean white design, continuing the theme from the shirt. It’s a break with Nike’s usual template for away kit, ignoring the dual colour favoured with most of Europe’s leading clubs and international teams.
AEK’s third kit is a nod to the past. It features the traditional black and yellow stripes, evenly spaced and leading into a black v-neck collar, with black shorts and socks.
