Anderlecht 2018/19 Away Kit Revealed

There’s a scene in the famous film A Knight’s Tale  where Paul Bettany’s character is introducing Heath Ledger’s. He stands on the jousting barrier shouting wonderful tales of bravery about the knight that reigns from a place named Gelderland. While we know that this place absolutely exists, the author of this piece couldn’t help but be reminded of that film when the kit release for Anderlecht was pushed across his desk. Anderlecht, Gelderland. Granted, they only share six letters but we thought it relevant to point out anyway. What were we talking about? Oh, that’s right, R.S.C (Royal Sports Club) Anderlecht’s 2018/19 away kit from Adidas.

The Belgian Pro League has six teams in it. As well as Anderlecht, they are: Club Brugge, Standard Liege, Gent, Genk (we know…), and Charleroi. Anderlecht sit in the middle – third place.

Working with the fans, Adidas decided on a modern design which utilises the very popular digital pattern and unique colouring. The finishing touches complete the jersey and allow a finished design which fans will surely be happy to see.

Running horizontally across both the front and the back, as well as the sleeves, are a number of light, broken stripes across the orange base colour. We describe the lines as broken, simply because they aren’t straight, nor a set thickness. Instead, the lines are seemingly unpredictable, adding up-close detail to a look that is easy to spot on the pitch.

With the collar, there’s no messing around. While we showed you a brilliantly classic Plymouth Argyle home kit yesterday, this away kit has a white trim around the neckline. This white finish matches the two stripes on either shoulder and completes the look.

We really hope that after trivialising this wonderful club by comparing them to A Knight’s Tale, they go on to win their league. Whether or not that will happen, we’ll have to see, but it’s certain that this away kit will be making a bold appearance around Belgium over the coming months.
