Brøndbyernes Idrætsforening, better known globally as Brondby IF, recently debuted their 2016/17 away kit. The Danish club is keen to recycle its’ kits; last season’s home kit remains and 2015/16’s away kit will serve as a third kit this time around.
Currently second in the Superliga table with 23 points, they trail leaders Copenhagen by six points. They are hoping to improve on last year’s fourth place finish which saw them qualify for the Europa League.
After battling their way through the qualifying rounds – including knocking Hibernian out – the Danes fell in the final play-off round, losing 4 – 1 on aggregate to Panathinaikos.
Brondby IF 2016/17 Away Kit
This is the Brondby IF 2016/17 away kit:
Using the same Hummel template as their home kit, Brondby will be in all-blue on their travels. A dark blue base colour is matched with light blue trim. It’s a shirt of intricacies; Hummel has inserted two tonal horizontal bands across the body of the shirt, below the sponsors logo.
The round neck collar has a button neckline with light blue overlay. On the sleeves, the cuffs are light blue with a tonal checkered pattern.
On the inside back collar of the shirt is the motto, “No one is above the club” whilst at the bottom hemline, “Together since 1964” is embossed on the hemline.
The shorts repeat the pattern of dark blue with cyan trim, as do the socks.
At first glance, it seems an ordinary kit but like Brondby, it is anything but.
