CSKA Moscow 2016/17 Kits

CSKA Moscow had a season to remember in 2015/16.

As well as celebrating their 13th league title – their third in four years – they had the pleasure of relegating city rivals, Dynamo Moscow, to the second tier of Russian football for the first time in their 93 year history. CSKA’s 3 – 1 defeat at FC Ufa on the final day of the season condemned Dynamo their Premier League place. Every cloud, etc.

CSKA MOSCOW 2016/17 HOME KIT

The CSKA Moscow home kit for 2016/17 sees a return to the club’s traditional red and blue stripes.

Trim is kept to a minimum with the V-neck collar in blue and the cuffs are thin bands of red and blue.

Adidas’ Three Stripes are down the side of the body of the shirt and are in gold colouring.

Last season’s all-red top may have been dropped by the outfield players but the goalkeeper shirt is remarkably similar in its all-red colour scheme. Some criticism has been directed at the kit design and in yesterday’s Russian Super Cup defeat to Zenit St Petersburg, the goalkeeper wore an all-black kit.

The shorts are blue with gold Adidas stripes on the outer leg, with red socks.

CSKA MOSCOW 2016/17 AWAY KIT

There is a bespoke design for CSKA Moscow’s away kit.

The club’s nickname is Koni – horses in Russian – and the all-black kit has a tonal print of a horse’s head on the front.

The trim for the shirt, shorts and socks is silver with Adidas’ stripes down the side of the body once more. The cuffs are a mix of black and silver bands.

CSKA have released two stylish kits with their away shirt a fine example of the craft of kit design.
