Juventus 2016/17 Away Kit Released

It was almost as badly kept a secret as Paul Pogba‘s desire to leave Turin. Juventus have unveiled their 2016/17 away kit from Adidas, and used Pogba as a marketing tool. It almost suggests they haven’t given up hope of keeping the French midfielder. Almost but not quite.

Their recently released home kit for next season attracted some criticism with supporters unhappy with the striped design and black shorts. At least they have white shorts with the away kit, pictures of which were leaked last month.

This is the away kit Juventus will wear during the 2016/17 season.

The shirt is made up of two shades of royal blue. The lighter of the pair forms the basis of the body and back of the shirt whilst the darker shade features in the two thick stripes down the centre, as well as the sleeves.

The cuffs and collar are black and white, referencing the clubs primary colours. The collar is reminiscent of the design used on the Germany shirts during this summer’s European Championships, leading onto Adidas’ Three Stripes in white which run across the shoulders.

The shorts will be white with the club crest on the right thigh and Adidas insignia on the back of the left. The socks are the lighter royal blue with the darker blue forming a band on the turnover.

It’s an interesting design but unspectacular. Very much aimed at the casual market, it isn’t a kit for kings but for champions? Few would argue that it is better than some others we’ve seen recently.
