Puma released a new colourway for the ecoPOWER 1.3: the Blackout. Alongside the evoSPEED, Puma released a stunning duet of contrasting colours for their leading boot silos.
The evoPOWER is the latest stylish addition to the long history of blackout boots.
Puma evoPOWER 1.3 Blackout Boot
This is the Puma evoPOWER 1.3 blackout boot:
In addition to a stylish design, the evoPOWER 1.3 invokes history. There is more than a hint of the magnificent Puma King which recently made a comeback.
The Kangaroo leather upper and black colourway are all the ingredients of a football boot classic. The flat soleplate without a heel counterbalance is another nod toward the retro inspiration. On the heel the silo logo is printed in white.
On the studs there are grey tips, an unusual addition to the boot’s colourway.
Puma hasn’t introduced any new technological advances with the boot with the features of the evoPOWER 1.3 remaining unaltered.
This colourway is unique in one sense. It’s a boot the professionals are unlikely to be wearing, heading instead straight to the retail market. Neither Olivier Giroud or Gianluigi Buffon are slated to wear the boot at any point in the future.
In an age where the garish design is king, this is an absolutely cracking boot from Puma. A return to the days when football boots concentrated more on the technology behind them? We can but hope.
