Manchester City 2017-18 Home Kit Unveiled

Manchester City unveiled their 2017-18 home kit, to the accompaniment of the cash tills ringing in Lisbon and Monaco.

Pep Guardiola wasted no time in strengthening his squad after last season’s disappointing third place finish with eyes on next season’s title.

With Benjamin Mendy arriving from Monaco for £40m, City mean business. The Citizen already signed Bernado Silva from the French champions and Ederson from Benfica.

Rumours already suggest that a deal for Virgil van Dijk from Southampton is in the offing, giving City’s already impressive squad the look of challengers on all fronts.

Nike managed not to make a pig’s ear with the panelled sleeve template; the overall look is sky blue which will please City’s faithful. The white neckband has “CITY” printed on the collar while the sleeve cuffs are solid blue.

Motifs and logos are navy in colour on the chest of the shirt with club’s familiar crest on the left breast.

White panels feature under the arms and down the side of the shirt body. There are white shorts with sky blue trim while sky blue socks complete the kit.

It’s a classic kit, harking back to the 60s and 70s in the simplicity of the design. Can Guardiola fashion title winners in celebration? We shall see.
