While the U.S. Men’s National Team is a burgeoning international squad, their female counterparts make up an established and successful side in women’s football. Having claimed Women’s World Cup titles in 1991 and 1999, the U.S. Women’s National Team will be vying for their third championship at this summer’s Women’s World Cup in Canada, and they’ll be doing so in these:

Socks are rarely the standout feature of a kit, but the volt coloured socks here are definitely eye-catching. No coincidence, then, that this kit integrates with Nike’s first women’s-specific football boot collection to create a head-to-toe look.
From Nike’s press release:
“Designers created the brilliant white kit to make a strong visual impact on the field. A contrasting stripe runs down the side of the body, through the jersey and shorts, to accentuate player movement. A white-to-volt gradient in the socks draws the eye to the feet and the ball.”
A blue triangular pennant with 13 stars, a reference to the 13 founding colonies of the United States, is printed on the inside back of the neck. Compare that with the red and white stripes in the same location on the 2015 U.S. away shirt, and you have a stylistic flag design that links the two shirts.

A unique, angular typeface, designed exclusively for the U.S. Soccer Federation, will be used for the names and numbering on the shirts and shorts.
Each part of the kit is made with recycled polyester, which is itself made from recycled plastic bottles. An average of 18 recycled plastic bottles go into each kit.
In their efforts to keep players cool on the pitch, Nike again utilizes its Dri-FIT technology to wick sweat away from the body, while laser-cut ventilation holes and mesh paneling increase air circulation and thermoregulation.
This kit was designed specifically for the USWNT, and Charlie Brooks, Nike’s vice president of North America communications, said the Men’s Team will not be competing in the same kits. However, the kit will be available in men’s sizes so that everyone can show their support for the women’s team.
