Puma and Crystal Palace Release 2018/19 Away Kit

Earlier today, we showed you their home kit, now let’s take a peek at their away jersey.

For Crystal Palace, the 1980s were excellent. Under the management of Terry Venables The Eagles gained promotion to the first division, the highest tier of English football and to commemorate 40 years since this historic occasion, Puma have released the award-nominated kit which features a dominant sash in club colours.

All of the promotional shots of players wearing the new away kit look like grumpy teenagers at weddings they don’t want to be at. Each player is giving the camera the eyes that say, “What have you put me in? I can’t shout at you but I can certainly send daggers with my eyes”. Regardless of the mopey footballers, the lovely new kit is simple, stylish and complete.

The body of the kit is white (we promise we won’t mention the awful white kit….oops). Across the front of it is a two-colour, thick stripe which runs from the left shoulder down to the bottom right of the jersey and the red from the stripe runs across each of the shoulders. It is interesting to note that the two-tone stripe doesn’t run onto the back of the kit top, instead it stops with the sharp white line running across it.

The sleeves which have the flash of red running across the shoulders are white with a full blue tapering around the bottoms.
This kit has the perfect combination of simplicity and completeness. It doesn’t try to do too much with too many colours and makes sure that Puma have not only created something stylishly eye-catching, but also defining of the club’s illustrious past and hopeful future.

Whether Roy Hodgson can take the club to the very high heights is yet to be seen but this new kit will be seen regularly on their travels, perhaps even beating some of the league’s titans such as Manchester City, Chelsea and Tottenham.
