It is one of football’s most iconic shirts and Real Madrid have gone back to the future for next season’s kit.
The traditional design oozes class as the club hopes to launch next season’s home kit by celebrating winning La Liga and the Champions League, pipping neighbours Atletico to both and destroying the title hopes of bitter rivals Barcelona
Adidas have chosen subtlety for their equally iconic three stripes, putting them down the side of the shirt from the under arm to bottom rather than on the shoulders and sleeves.
That clean design, broken only by the purple cuffs, draws strongly from the kits worn 114 years ago when the club was first formed. The club crest, with the crown at its’ top, sits proudly on the left breast, opposite the Adidas logo.
The shirt is completed with the club’s name embossed onto the back of the collar, the raised white lettering subtle as Adidas returns triumphantly to the club’s roots with what will surely be favoured highly among the fans of Los Merengues.
