Fourteenth in last season’s Campeonato Brasiliero, Sport Recife still qualified for the Copa Sudamericana. Their campaign got off to a flying start with a 3 – 0 win over Uruguayan side Danubio.
Sport Recife 2017-18 Home Shirt Leaked
The official launch of the 2017-18 home kit has yet to take place. However, these photos claim to be of the home shirt. As of yet, this remains unconfirmed.
The design is unfussy, focussing on the club’s traditional red and black hoops. Clearly visible on the front, the back seems to be all-red.
A red v-neck collar contrasts with black shirt sleeve cuffs. It allows a smaller black band to sit on the front shoulder area. Consequently, Adidas’ three golden stripes which run across the shoulders, stand out from the red colouring underneath.
On the chest, Adidas’ logo sits on the right breast in gold, opposite the club crest with two gold stars either side a silver star, above.
On the reverse, the motif, “O Brasil É Teu” – “For Brazil and You” – stands in gold lettering on a black panel.
Overall, if this is the real deal, Adidas has done Sport proud. It is a stylish take on the club’s traditional colours and a signal that they will leave the garish kits to Nike.
