Interestingly, Argentina’s first
ever shirt was all white and was worn against Uruguay in 1901 – a match they
won 3 goals to 2. The kit comprised of white shorts and grey socks but from
1911, they adopted the light blue and white striped shirt with black shorts and
white socks, which remains famous to this day. There have been a few exceptions
to this, most notably in 1919 when they wore a light blue kit, similar to that
of Uruguay, when they faced Brazil in the Roberto Chery Cup.
