AS Monaco Football Kits

AS Monaco, founded in 1924, play their football in Ligue 1 in France, despite technically not being part of the country. Based in the wealthy Monte Carlo, Monaco are one of the most successful clubs in French football history with 7 League Titles and 5 'Coupe De France' victories. On top of that, Monaco remarkably reached the 2004 champions league final only to be defeated by Jose Mouinho's Porto.

'Les Rouges et Blanc' is the clubs nickname which literally translates as 'The Red and Whites'. They play their football at the Stade Louis II in Fontiville which is an 18,500 capacity stadium and are owned by majority shareholder Dmitry Rybolovlev. The club play in distinctive red and white halved shirts, which are a unique design in European football.

Monaco's history has been somewhat up and down to say the least. Despite being founded in the 1920's, they never started playing in the top tier of French Football until 1953.

In the early 1960's, Monaco would endure some on-field success. Lead by Lucien Leduc, Monaco would win their first professional trophy the 'Coupe De France' and follow that up by winning the French Championships. In 1963, the club would secure their first ever league and cup double.

With the club looking to push on domestically and in Europe, Monaco appointed relatively unknown manager Arsene Wenger. This would prove to be an inspired choice as the manager would deliver success to the club and in doing so bring some legends of the game to Monaco with the likes of Jurgen Klinsmann, George Weah and Glenn Hoddle wearing the famous red and white jersey.

Wenger's reign would also see him produce some of the nations most coveted players with the likes of Thierry Henry, Lilian Thuram and Emmanuel Petit making their way through the Monaco youth system. The club would win the 1988 league title in Wenger's first season in charge followed by the 1991 'Coupe de France'. Under Wenger's stewardship, they would compete in the latter stages of Europe and could have enjoyed more success had it not been for the controversy surrounding Marseilles match fixing scandal. Wenger would leave in 1994 due to difficulties with the board. However, it was during his period at the club which saw Monaco put on the global map and sales of Monaco football shirts have continued to rise since then.

Despite his departure, the club would still manage to win 2 more league titles in 1997 and 2000 under the guidance of Jean Tigana and Claude Puel respectively.

At the turn of the millennium, the club would endure financial difficulties. With debts mounting, the club would be banned from purchasing players. However, this didn't stop new manager Didier Deschamps achieving the remarkable feat of leading Monaco to a European Cup Final. They were eventually defeated 3-0 by Porto but claimed massive scalps earlier in the tournament knocking out the likes of Real Madrid.

With the club unable to hold on to their star players, it was back to reality for many years. The club would slowly decline and eventually in 2010-11, the club would be relegated to Ligue 2.

With the club still struggling financially, December 2011 saw a huge change in fortune. Russian Billionaire Dmitry Bylovlev would buy a 66% stake in the club. The club would climb out of the relegation zone and under the stewardship of newly appointed Claudio Ranieri, AS Monaco would return to Ligue 1 the following season as Ligue 2 Champions. The billionaire owner opened his cheque book on several occasions most notably signing James Rodriguez, Joao Moutinho and Radamel Falcao. During this period, demand for Monaco shirts skyrocketed and for a period, they were our best selling Ligue 1 Football Shirt, ahead of PSG.

Monaco Home Shirt

With their nickname translating as 'The Red and Whites', it is no surprise the clubs colours are the exact same. The clubs red and white shirt separated by a diagonal line on the front and back of the shirt is one of the most famous in European football. The club finish off the kit with white shorts and white socks. AS Monaco are currently sponsored by Fedcom. Nike took over the contract in 2014 after a previous spell with Macron.

Monaco Training Kit

As well as the Monaco soccer jerseys, you can also buy an extensive range of training kit from Nike. Popular items include the polo shirts, jackets, tracksuits and training tops, which are available in adult and children's sizes and in a range of colours and sizes.
