Despite challenges like climate, population density, and limited infrastructure, Greenland’s kits carry strong symbolic weight. Red and white remain central but new designs increasingly draw on local art, myth, nature, and materials. Patterns like avittat, tupilak, tuukkaq, and motifs inspired by ice, glaciers and Greenlandic mythology help bring identity and story to each release.
2025 Home Kit by Hummel – Launched December 2024, this red home jersey features engravings of tupilaks, tuukkaqs and avittat-style motifs. The design pays tribute to Greenland’s culture and its landscape while celebrating the new partnership with Hummel.
2025 Away Kit by Hummel – A frosty blue design inspired by glaciers and ice formations, with traditional detailing on collar, cuffs and trim. This jersey evokes Greenland’s natural environment and resilience.
Earlier Macron Era (2021-2024) – Under Macron, Greenland’s shirts began to push more graphic detail and joined the growing trend of using culture and landscape in the design, setting the stage for the leap to Hummel.
Greenland may be newer on the international scene, but there are players making their mark and inspiring the next generation:
Nemo Thomsen – A young forward from Ilulissat, known for early goal exploits and representing Greenland in camps and friendly matches.
Adam Ejler Hansen – Talented left-back/defender, part of the squad during recent selection camps while based in Denmark.
Anders H. Petersen – Veteran midfielder with numerous caps, one of the more experienced voices in Greenlandic football.
Hummel — As of September 2024, Greenland entered a four-year partnership with Danish sportswear brand Hummel. They replaced Macron as the official kit supplier.
Macron — The previous supplier from 2021 until the switch. They helped establish designs with more culture and graphic detail before the transition.
Early kits were simple in design, often using basic colour schemes (red/white) and traditional trims.
In recent years, designs have become more ambitious: integrating Greenlandic symbols (tupilak, tuukkaq), borrowing from local craftsmanship (avittat), and drawing motifs from the natural environment.
The move to Hummel has allowed more story-driven, bespoke designs, tying art, myth and nature together.
As Greenland continues efforts to join CONCACAF, the team's exposure, match frequency, and design ambitions seem set to grow.
