Founded in 1909, Real Sociedad de Fútbol are instantly recognised by their royal blue and white vertical stripes — one of the most classic looks in Spanish football. Over more than a century, that simple but stylish design has remained largely unchanged, embodying the club’s deep connection to its city and community. Known affectionately as La Real, their kits are a visual expression of Basque elegance and pride.
Real Sociedad’s early shirts featured blue and white hoops, later replaced by vertical stripes for clarity and contrast. Their first professional kits were handmade in the port city, with woollen fabrics suited to the coastal climate.
As Spanish football modernised, manufacturers such as Adidas, Umbro, Astore, and Macron have shaped La Real’s visual evolution. Adidas introduced minimalist white sleeves in the 1980s, while Basque brand Astore brought a local touch in the early 2000s with regionally inspired trims.
