Spain Football Shirts

Given their dominance in recent years, winning the European Championships in 2008 and 2012 and the FIFA World Cup in 2010, it is unsurprising that Spain have been our bestselling international soccer jerseys of recent times. With an array of talent arguably not seen since the great Brazilian side of the 1970s, Spain were worthy winners of the trophies and their exciting style of play made them the most popular kids football shirts for many years.

Spain's national football team formed in 1920. The country pulled together a squad to compete in the Olympics that very year. Due to an exceptional set of circumstances, Spain were able to claim the Silver medal. Despite being knocked out by eventual winners Belgium, the final was thrown in to disarray after Czechoslovakia walked off the field. This opened up the tournament allowing teams to fight it out for 2nd place in which Spain were victorious.

Unfortunately, due to the Spanish Civil War and World War II, Spain played no competitive matches between 1934 and 1950.

Their first triumph would come at the 1964 European Championships, held in their homeland. Marcelino scored the winner in the final against the Soviet Union and help them claim their first bit of major silverware.

After being knocked out of the 1966 World Cup at the group stages, Spain failed to qualify for the next 5 major tournaments, a low point in the nations footballing history.

It wasn't until 2008 where Spain tasted success again. This victory was the start of a special time in Spanish Football. After Luis Arragones left the post as national manager following the 2008 triumph, Vincent Del Bosque took over and lead the team to further success in the 2010 World Cup held in South Africa. Spain needed extra time to beat Netherlands in the final and consolidate their place at the top of the FIFA rankings. Spain then went on to defend their European Championships in 2012. The tournament was held in Ukraine and Poland and saw Spain defeat Italy 4-0 in the final. With players like Xavi, Andres Iniesta, David Villa and many more at the peak of their game, it was little surprise that Spain enjoyed such a dominant spell becoming the first team to win 3 major titles in a row.

Spain Home and Away Kit

Spain play in a distinctive red home jersey which features yellow details in keeping with the colours of the national flag. It is worn with blue shorts and red socks and is one of the most striking jerseys in world football. Throughout their period of dominance, the Spanish replica jerseys were manufactured by Adidas, who have been long term partners of the national team.

For their away kit, Spain have worn a variety of colours in recent times.
